It’s just 10 hours of “work” a day, and the pay is outrageous. Plus, since it’s top-secret info, my memory is always wiped before I head home, leaving me refreshed, fizzy. All they can tell us is that we’re examining images—over 300/second—while they neuroimage our brains in real time. Apparently our subconscious can process data in ways that far outpace AI, making snap judgments about…? Rumors include: luggage going through airport scanners, faces entering subway stations, nuclear development sites on satellite images, IDing suspects as drone-strike targets. But I know my brain. And isn’t my subconscious frequently so, so wrong?
