Stained gauze beneath his nose, Nicolas couldn’t believe he’d made it to fifth grade without realizing he bled silver-colored blood. After the nurse sent him home, his parents admitted he was an android, built off the body of their son, Nicolas, who’d died of childhood leukemia.
